Biography
Ezzaldin Shahrori, born in Kuwait in 1973, lived there for 17 years before the Iraq invasion to Kuwait in 1990, during these years in his birthplace homeland, he participated in many art and painting school activities, taking evening art classes in his school, he participated in his first-ever group exhibition in the Ali bin Abi Talib elementary school when he was 7 years old.
Between 1993 and 1995 he studies in the Arab college pharmacy diploma program, and join evening art school belong to the Jordanian ministry of culture, at the beginning in this school it was his intention to study and learn visual art and painting, but he discovers that there are two other sections music and theater, he take few months of study in the music section, then one year in theater section, and finally for five months in the fine art ( drawing and painting section).
After several years of self-practicing, he follows his passion and made his first solo exhibition at the (JPAA) Jordanian plastic artist association gallery in February 1996. In the same year, he made the second solo exhibition on the phoenix art gallery, and after that, he continues showing his work in many group exhibitions organized by the JPAA. Two solo exhibitions for him were held at the French cultural center between 2005 and 2008.
Beside his working as an artist he believe education in different discipline can be very crucial and important , so between 2000 and 2006 he attend long distance studying program at the university of JUBA ( now south of Soudan) and graduated with degree of bachelors in business administration.
From the beginning of 2000 and after years he was interested in globalism and the internet and he was fascinated by the idea of showing his art through the internet to the world, he made his own web site in 2006, he made the web site literally by himself considering that establishing a web site in 2006 was very expensive, he decided to learn it by himself by advice from his brother which was a computer programmer, he learned HTML and other web markup language for designing web site like FrontPage and Dreamweaver. Then he gets more and more involved in technology assuming that it’s the gate for modern and future world communication.
Participate in the AMALA multimedia workshop in Alexandria – Egypt 2007, the workshop was initiated to be sharing different experiences in visual art, his final project was a video art called “movement” made and exhibited in the final group exhibition for workshop participants.
He was invited to participate in a group exhibition in Oujda – Morocco 2008, with many artists mainly from Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, and morocco.
In 2009 he joined an intensive digital film making workshop at the Jordanian Film Commission, where he had the essential knowledge and experience in film making including the topics of script writing, directing, editing, sound, and camera and lightening, his graduation project was with a short film titled “ Abu Nasser the barber “.
After the film making work shop he wrote his first feature film “ The Prize “ and he made a small pilot , but unfortunately the film had no chance to be produced.
Along the way with that, he was working in his studio in the cultural village in the King Hussain gardens from 2006 until 2014 when he travels for a visit to Istanbul / turkey be an invitation of his Finnish artist Matti servio who was living and working in Istanbul. This visit converted to a long residency with intention for life long staying in Istanbul exactly after three days of reaching this great vibrate city, which he couldn’t resist falling in love with its beautiful culture.
He joined Saatchi art and was one of the earliest members that join this online web art platform, and from then he continues sharing his work with the world.
From that point, he believed that the real geographical location for artist is getting less important thanks to the internet and modern technology, and because of that, he stayed in Istanbul between 2014 and 2020, working in his studio and showing his art to the web.
Between 2017 -2018 he attend art oil painting full year class in ISMEK organization in Istanbul-turkey, brings back formal art education with drawing and painting.
In the meantime Ezzaldin Shahrori back to Amman – Jordan because of the coronavirus pandemic.
